Shannyn completed a Bachelor of Exercise Sports Science at the University of Queensland and subsequently completed her Postgraduate degree in Podiatry at the Queensland University of Technology.
Shannyn enjoys performing all aspects of podiatric care, and treating patients of all ages and sporting abilities, from the young amateur to the seasoned sporting professional. Being dual-trained as an exercise sports scientist as well as a podiatrist, she has particular interests in diagnosing and managing soft tissue and biomechanical-related injuries, orthotic design and manufacture, return to sport rehabilitation, and sports medicine relating to the foot and lower limb.
She has over 5 years experience working in the footwear industry, giving her a comprehensive knowledge about the technical aspects of footwear and their relevance to each patient’s specific needs and requirements. In addition to this, she has worked alongside Brisbane’s leading sports medicine specialists with professional athletes, including the Brisbane Broncos, Football Queensland and Queensland AFL, gaining invaluable experience and knowledge regarding the importance of strength and conditioning in injury rehabilitation, and screening biomechanical factors central to injury and recovery.
