Abbey was born in Adelaide but completed her junior schooling in Melbourne. She graduated from the University of South Australia in 2013 with a degree in Podiatry. Since graduating she has worked across acute tertiary hospital settings, aged care and private practice.

She takes a special interest in foot pain/biomechanics, high-risk feet and the management of nail disease. On a personal note, she likes to spend weekends being active outdoors with her husband and their Schnoodles named Sooty & Spike.
